I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola University New Orleans. My research interests include philosophy of religion, philosophy of science, and philosophy of nature, with a particular focus on causality and explanation in the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition.
Digital humanities
For years, I’ve wanted what no one site offers. The TLG has the texts, the search, and the parsing, but no translations. Perseus has translations, but no good way to read them beside the Greek. The Loeb has the facing page, but no search and no parsing. I wanted all of it in one place, so I built the Aristotle Reader, then Plato and Homer readers on the same model. I built the sites using AI but the translations are not AI: they are published, public-domain translations set beside the Greek. In progress: Grammata, a Greek and Latin grammar reference built to be easier to use than what exists; a desktop version of the readers; an app for translators of Greek and Latin; and a digital Bonitz.

About
Before coming to Loyola I taught philosophy for six years at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where I am a PhD candidate at the Center for Thomistic Studies. My dissertation is on Aristotle’s theory of causal explanation. I earned an MA in philosophy at the Center and a BA in liberal arts from Thomas Aquinas College. I also serve as a senior editor at Reality: A Journal for Philosophical Discourse.
